The Ming Dynasty ruled for 276 years and is known for it’s orderly government and social stability. The dynasty collapsed in 1644 although remnants of the dynasty ruled southern China until 1662. Next came the Qing Dynasty, which ruled from 1644-1912. During these years, the dynasty was greatly focused on Chinese cultural, keeping up the tradition of administering imperial examinations. The dynasty expanded its borders in the 18th century under the Qianlong Emperor. The dynasty fell in 1912.
