The Crimean War

The Crimean War lasted from October of 1853 to February of 1856. The war began as Russia fought against the Ottoman Empire in order to protect the rights of Orthodox Christians. Eventually, Russia lost to the alliance of the Ottoman Empire, France, Britain, and Sardinia. Fun fact: the Crimean War was one of the first wars to be extensively recorded through reports and photographs. The public, especially in Britain, was kept up to date on the day by day progression of the war.

The Crimean War map includes a colorful labeled teacher’s map and an unlabeled student map that the child can label and color.
