Welcome to the Crew!

We are so glad you are here. We really want the next volume of A Child's Geography to be what YOU want it to be. That's why we are opening ourselves up here to your comments, feedback and correction.

The rough draft provided below is the third volume of A Child’s Geography, called Explore the Classical World. It is the third book in a series that introduces the wonders of our world to grade school children. A Charlotte Mason style history and geography curriculum, this book gives children a flavor of the world without leaving home. Learning about our world has never been easier or more fun.

Let's set some expectations, first thing:

1. The book is 15 chapters long. We will provide 5 chapters at a time, more manageable sized chunks than getting the whole thing at once. Chapters 1-5 are included in the Word document below. Chapters 6-10 will be delivered to you when you return Chapters 1-5. Chapters 11-15 will be delivered to you when you return Chapters 6-10. I hope that makes sense.

2. The Word doc is just straight text, but the book will NOT be straight text. It will be LOADED with photos! It is going to be a gorgeous book. We are hoping that it will be full color thoughout. If that options puts the price out of reach for most buyers, we'll do as we have done before - half color, half black and white. We have a great photographer who knows how to make black and white photos stunning, but that is definitely Plan B. Plan A is full-color!

3. The PDF below is just a rough sample of the possible layout of the book. It includes the first three chapters. We just wanted to make sure that you knew that there will be photos - many of them - on each two-page spread of the book.

4. These are the types of comments we are looking for:

  • If you like something, create a note and let us know.
  • If you find a factual error, create a note and let us know.
  • If you find a typo, gaffe or other mistake, make the change in the document.
  • If you have a suggestion for improved wording, make the change.
  • If you have any ideas for hands-on projects, send them along.
  • What have I missed?

Basically, we are open to your constructive criticism, your correction and your encouragement. This is YOUR book and we want you to LOVE it! :)

When you are finished making notes, comments and corrections in the Word doc, just send it along to us at [email protected]. We'll send you the next section upon receipt. We are requesting that you send back this first section no later than 3/12/13. Thank you!

If you have any questions, please direct them to [email protected].

Thanks again. We cannot wait to begin this process!

Here's the Word document ready to receive your comments.

Here is a PDF of Chapters 1-3 for your information only (not current).
