Westward Expansion/Mexican War

MapCenter-WesternExpansion-2med

As the United States expanded westward, they came into conflict with Mexico that resulted in the Mexican – American War. This war lasted a year and a half, as American forces occupied California and New Mexico and made advances into Mexican territory. The war ended with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo on February 2, 1848. The United States considered it a victory and Mexico claimed the Rio Grande as its new national border.

The Westward Expansion/Mexican War map includes a colorful labeled teacher’s map and an unlabeled student map that the child can label and color.
