Started on June 18, 1812, the War of 1812 lasted 32 months and was fought between the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain it’s North American allies and colonists. The United States was the party that declared war. They fought against the British support of American Indian raids, the recruitment of Americans into the British Royal Navy, and other political issues. The war was ended on December 24, 1814 when both sides signed the Treaty of Ghent.
