The Boxer Rebellion began in the year 1900 when a group of Chinese anti-foreigner activists called the Boxers came to Beijing with the goal of driving foreigners and foreign influences out of China. Although she wasn’t initially supportive of the rebellion, Empress Dowager Cixi came to support the rebellion and for the next 55 days, foreigners (diplomats, soldiers, civilians) and even Chinese Christians were under attack and had to seek refuge and safety. Even though the Boxer Rebellion ended in 1901, it had long-term repercussions that lasted for a decade.

The Boxer Rebellion in China map includes a colorful labeled teacher’s map and an unlabeled student map that the child can label and color.
