Phoenicia’s Trading Empire /map_center/phoenicias-trading-empire/ /map_center/phoenicias-trading-empire/#comments Thu, 31 Oct 2013 13:59:02 +0000 KQ Team /map_center/?p=114 Phoenicia-MC-medium

Tyre was the capital city and seaport of ancient Phoenicia. Its wealth and fame from the sale of purple dye attracted the attention of many jealous enemies, including King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia, who laid siege against Tyre for 13 years. Sidon and Byblos were older Phoenician cities and just as important. Sidon, famous for its glass craftsmanship, surpassed all other Phoenician cities in wealth.

Your purchased map file includes a labeled teacher’s map (see image above) and an unlabeled student version for the child to label and color.
