The Kingdom of Prussia was brought about through the combining of Brandenburg and the Duchy of Prussia in 1618. The Kingdom of Prussia was officially proclaimed as such in 1701. It was a very powerful and influential nation in the 18th century under the reign of Frederick the Great.
